How to Discover Your Hidden Talent?
You never know you have a hidden talent until you start to explore yourself. You first do that by realizing and differentiating between things you like and things you don’t. Hidden talent is something you love and enjoy doing. Maintaining it as a hobby or turning it into a full time profession depends on the level of interest you have in it. Here are a few ways to discover your hidden talent.
1. Explore yourself for a while and make a note of all the things you love doing. Be it listening to music, gardening, cooking etc. Your mind can go blank if you start to think of them right now. Give yourself some time. List out and observe your reactions to the things you do daily or the things you like to do. In that way, you can come up with the list of things you love to do. You never know, you might even end up being very good at them.
2. Prioritize your desires and likes. In this way, you will be able to concentrate on what you love doing the most. For example, you may like playing musical instruments and also photography. Prioritize and mainly concentrate on one, while the other can always be a hobby or a part time undertaking.
3. There might be a few things you have never tried before but would love to. Make a list of those too. Try attending coaching classes or referring to any tutorials. Even these things have a chance of being your hidden talent.
4. Grab every opportunity you get to learn something new or to showcase something you are good at. Even if you can’t recognize it, people around you can be able to recognize the true talent in you and motivate accordingly.
5. Aim high. Try to achieve your dreams. If you are doing something that makes you really happy, then there are no chances of you getting bored or satisfied with what you want. Keep aiming and keep achieving.
6. You cannot achieve anything without hard work. Perseverance and patience make you reach your goal quicker. The more you persevere, the faster you reach.
7. On your path of finding and doing something you like, there may be many critics pointing out at your faults. Don’t let them discourage you. Take the criticism as a challenge. Commit mistakes. You will realize them and never repeat the same.
8. As Alan Kay puts it, “The best way to predict the future is to invent it”. Write down what all you want to achieve and what you want to become. A Hidden talent can pop out suddenly.
Hidden talents are mostly those activities which offer you bliss while doing them. Search within and you shall find the answer.
