How To Make Proper Use Of Weekends?
Friday is anticipated with joy. And why shouldn’t it be? Friday is followed by Saturday and Sunday! People prefer to relax, enjoy and simply ‘live’ on weekends. No hustle-bustle of professional life, no meetings and definitely no deliverables. The concept is simple – eat, sleep and relax. Apart from these basic things, one can certainly accomplish slightly more that can help one smooth the following week.
1. Chalk out a weekend plan
Most weekends come and go like a quick breeze. You do not get to sit and breathe it in. So, we would suggest you to plan exactly what you are going to do on the weekends. Not a strict schedule, but a rough draft would suffice. Include all the to-do things and try to finish it off on Saturday, so that Sunday can be utilized differently and for relaxation purposes.
Start from the house chores such as laundry, cleaning the house and washing your car. These are non-stressful, however, mandatory activities. Seeing these little household chores to completion can relieve your stress for the coming week.
2. Prepare for the week ahead
If you are the kind of person who has to cook everyday, then it is a good idea to stock up your refrigerator with perishable food items to last over the week. This way, there is no headache of cooking during the jam-packed weekdays. Other useful things to do would be to iron your work clothes and keep them ready, you could get gas filled in your car and buy the groceries/vegetables/fruits to last a week.
3. Learn something new
Rather than simply sitting on the couch watching an old movie, you can try to learn something that you have always wanted to try. It could be something as simple as learning to play the piano, or something more complicated like learning to fly a helicopter. Such activities, that you hold dear to your heart, rejuvenate and energize you for the upcoming week.
4. Plan to have fun
You could have a night-out at your place with a few of your close friends to catch up with them. Plan a day out picnic with your loved ones, or if you prefer solitude, plan it just with yourself.
In all, try to utilize weekends to their fullest, because they are very rare and occur once in five days.
