Learn How to Read People by Observing These Signs
Do you want to develop the skill of knowing what people think by reading their body language? Would you like to know what is going on in other people’s minds? Learn how to read people by observing these 6 signs in their personality and body movements.
1. Hand movements and positions
Have you noticed that when you talk to people, their hands automatically assume a fixed position on their bodies? They could keep their arms crossed, clasped, in their pockets, on their waists or hanging by their sides. Each position and movement suggests what they may be thinking. For example, hands hanging casually by the side connote a relaxed, laid back attitude and hands placed over the waist in a confident way may mean that the person is dominating.
2. Frequency of blinking
Eyes can be a window into a person’s personality. Almost every eye movement can potentially suggest what a person may be thinking about. People who blink very less and constantly seem to stare could be calm and collected. People whose eyeballs constantly dart from one corner of the room to the other or whose eyelids blink at light’s speed could be anxious and nervous. Experts have also noted that people who look sideways while talking could be lying about something or doing something dubious.
3. Speed of talking
The speed at which a person talks can say a lot about his/her personality and state of mind. Talking too fast in a garbled way shows a confused state of mind, speaking too slowly shows lack of confidence and speaking calmly and steadily shows confidence. You can learn how to read people by merely observing the speed at which they talk.
4. Head tilt
Head movements are an important part of body language. People who tilt their heads while talking can be considered to be receptive and sympathetic. People who keep their heads straight and firm could be cautious and careful before showing too much expression or emotion. If someone tends to nod their head too much in agreement when they are listening to you, they could be putting up a facade to hide what they may be actually thinking about.
5. Playing with hair
Among many other signs of nervousness, one of the most obvious one is when people play with their hair while sitting idly or talking to someone. People who tend to curl their hair or play with it constantly can either be deep thinkers or extremely tensed about something. Men who keep running their hands through their hair may be distracted, annoyed or less receptive.
6. Twitching, pursing or fidgeting
Body language can give away a person’s state of mind immediately because, it reflects emotions in real time. People who are fidgety are known to be indecisive and people who twitch their limbs can be hyperactive or lacking in focus. By observing the context in which people twitch, purse of fidget different parts of their bodies, you may be able to read their minds successfully.
