Top 4 Ways To Sleep Better
Good sleep is essential for our health and general well-being. However, in our fast world, which is full of stress, people find it hard to get a good rest and night’s sleep. Let us take a look at top ways to sleep better.
1. Let it shine
Your sleep and waking cycle is regulated by a hormone called melatonin. When it is getting dark outside, your body produces more melatonin and you start feeling sleepy. The production of this hormone decreases, when your body and eyes are exposed to bright day light. So, if you want to sleep tight during the night and feel fully awakened during the day, get some sunlight. Do not wear your sunglasses, especially in the mornings. Take breaks in your work, go for a walk outside and ‘drink in’ some sunlight.
2. Lights-on and lights-out
Whether you like it or not, but your body likes regimen. It prefers to go to bed and wake up at a set time. This makes it easier for you to fall asleep and have a sound sleep during the night. So, set a time for the lights-out and set your alarm clock on the same time to wake up every day.
3. Lullaby
It is not by a chance that kids fall into sweet sleep listening to their mothers’ lullabies. Things go easier, if we have a certain routine preceding our falling asleep. You do not need your mother to sing a song for you, but you can come up with your own go-to-sleep routine. Turn on some gentle music, burn some aroma sticks every time before you go to bed. Read something pleasant and balmy before you go to sleep. This would prepare you for rest, calm down your nerves and emotions and help you to get a deeper and sound sleep.
4. Snacks
Eating a lot before you go to sleep is not good. Everyone knows that. But going to bed hungry may not let you rest well during the night. The best solution is to eat two hours before you go to bed. And get yourself a cup of low fat milk or yogurt right before you are ready to lay down.
